Admissions under FN/PIO Students Quota

Schedule of Admissions for 2024-25 shall be announced as per Government instructions.

Definitions:

Persons of Indian Origin (PIO): Citizens of other countries (except Pakistan and Bangladesh) who at any time held an Indian Passport, or their ancestors were citizens of India.

Foreign Nationals: Citizens of all countries other than India, who are not of Indian origin.

Foreign Student: Students who possess a foreign passport.

The AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) has approved Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur vide its letter dated: 23/09/2004 and there after extended permission session for admitting students having status of Foreign Nationals / Persons of Indian Origin / Children of Indian workers in the Gulf Countries under 15% supernumerary quota in the following branches:

Admission Procedure:

AICTE has extended approval for FN/PIO/Children of Gulf NRI (15% supernumerary quota) and 5% for NRI within sanctioned intake for the session 2024-25 (Letter F.No. Western/1-10970336825/2022/EOA dated 3-July-2022).

Note: 5% seats for NRI Ward quota within sanctioned intake, and 15% seats for FN/PIO/Children of Gulf NRI quota, over and above the sanctioned intake, as per AICTE.

Admission Procedure for First Year B.Tech:

Online registration of applications is required. Candidates should send the print of the online filled application form and required documents by hand/speed post/courier for verification and confirmation to "The Principal, Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE), Versova Road, Munshi Nagar, Andheri (West), Mumbai-400058".

Candidates shall write on the envelope "Application for NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian workers in Gulf countries, Foreign National".

Rules for Admission under FN/PIO Quota:

  • If any seats remain vacant, they shall be kept vacant and not offered to any other candidates.
  • 1/3rd of the 15% seats shall be reserved for children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, and 2/3rd for PIO/Foreign Nationals.
  • As per the orders of Hon’ble High Court of Bombay, these seats can be filled by the institutes only after the institute is certified by the AICTE to the effect that the institute has infrastructure facilities for making the admissions against the over and above the sanctioned intake seats for Foreign Nationals, Foreign Students, PIOs and children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries. In the event of non-availability of Foreign Nationals, Foreign Students, PIOs and children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries, these seats can not be filled from any other candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for FN/PIO Candidates:

  • Admissions to First Year B.E.: Candidate should have passed the HSSC (Std.XII) examination of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and secured minimum 50% marks i.e. not less than 150 marks out of 300 marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics added together.
  • The eligibility of the candidates passing the HSSC (Std. XII) equivalent examination from a school/college/Examination Board situate outside India shall be further decided by the University Authorities to which the candidate is admitted.
  • The candidate belonging to this type is not required to appear for the MHT-CET/JEE (Main).

Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of ‘Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management’, Payable at Nagpur.

Note:

  • Eligibility Certificate can be obtained from the concerned University (RTMNU) even before provisional admissions.
  • No objection Certificate: After obtaining the eligibility certificate from RTM Nagpur University, the candidate needs to get a medical certificate from the Civil Surgeon, Mayo Hospital, Nagpur. After receiving the medical certificate, the Foreign Student’s Advisor will direct the candidate to pay INR 40,000/- to the University to get the NOC.
  • Provisional admission can be applied for if the results of “A” level / XII / equivalent examination are awaited.
  • Hostel admission, if needed, may be taken at the time of confirmation of admission. 5 rooms in the Girls hostel and 25 rooms in the Boys hostel have been reserved for FN/PIO/GULF/NRI students.

Hostel expenses: Yearly lodging and boarding charges: approx. INR 80,000/- for boys hostel and INR 95,000/- for girls hostel. Additional refundable deposit INR 10,000/-.

Note:

  • In case of payments through NRO/NRE accounts, equivalent Indian Rupee at the rate of 78 per USD.
  • An additional non-refundable processing fee of INR 10,000 is payable while filling the Admission request form by DD in favour of Shri Ramdeobaba College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur.

Refund Rule:

In case of cancellation of admission under NRI-Ward/FN/PIO/Gulf NRI Category made before 15th September, 2022, proportionate monthly charges of Tuition + Development + Other fee, will be deducted. In case of cancellation after the cut-off date, no refund will be made, except refundable caution money deposit of INR 25,000.
